Icaria is an island with as many aspects as its steep rocks. A lengthy island, bathed in sunlight and in the meltemi of the Aegean Sea. Place of the first celestial traveler myth, place of pirate raids and occupiers, of the Free State of Icaria, place of tradition, place of exile, of freedom. The path of the island seems to be following in those same, ancient footsteps, in search of plain truth. Always remote and rough, its residents are always involved and at one with nature, by entering deeply inside its secrets. By learning its internal rhythm and by constructing their social life according to it, so as not to look like a foreign body and a clumsy dissonance to its harmony.

Today the island is, among other things, a place of self-exile for many young people who reject the urban lifestyle which has never worked. The unemployment in the cities, the alienation and the contemporary dead ends, lead them to a hard journey. They need to start their life again with zeal and to highlight a new aspect of this place, without disturbing its balance. This activity is a quiet revolution through which this group of young people, together with the local society, attempts to lay the foundations for its existence. So, over time, in one way or another, Icaria, the celestial island, still seems to be a destination for a mythical journey.
